Reactor Internals

Reactors used in the chemical, petrochemical and refining industries have different flow directions. This flow may be radial (Radial Flow) or vertical, downwards (Down Flow). Costacurta has specific experience over a long period in the construction of Down Flow reactor internals for hydrotreating, hydrocracking, urea and methanol synthesis and  in the construction of Radial Flow reactor internals for catalytic reforming units, isomerization and synthesis of ammonia.

Hexagonal Mesh

Hexagonal mesh and anchors are used for armouring refractory, anti-abrasive and anti-corrosive linings and are used in the oil, petrochemical, chemical, metallurgical, cement and various other industries. Costacurta produces numerous different kinds of hexagonal mesh and anchors to meet the technical specifications of the main process and engineering companies and has considerable experience in the elaboration of construction and assembly drawings, indispensable for facilitating installation. The family of products includes: VICO-Still®, VICO-Stillflex, VICO-Rep (S-bar), VICO-Anchors and lining fittings. Typical material grades are: AISI 304H, AISI 310S, AISI 410S and Carbon Steel.

Separators

Gas-Liquid Separators

Gas-liquid separators are generally used to remove droplets carried by vapour streams in order to reduce the loss of expensive products, increase product purity, prevent the corrosion of downstream equipment and reduce pollution of vapour waste into the atmosphere. These separators are widely used in the chemical, petrochemical and refining industries, in environmental protection applications and in many other industrial sectors.
The family of products includes: VICO-Tex®, VICO-Vane, VICO-Chevron and VICO-Spin.

Liquid-liquid Separators

Liquid-liquid separators are installed in horizontal and vertical vessels to increase the efficiency of separation between two liquid phases, that cannot mix together, in order to reduce the loss of expensive products, increase the purity of each phase, stop the corrosion of downstream equipment and reduce pollution due to products that could be drained out into the surrounding environment.
The family of products includes: VICO-Tex® coalescer and VICO-Pack sloped plate coalescer.

Distributors and Flow Equalisers

The installation of inlet distributors and flow equalisers inside separators can reduce turbolence and thus improve the overall separation efficiency of a separator. Inlet distributors and flow equalisers contribute to enhancing gas-liquid and liquid-liquid separation not only by reducing turbolence, but also by means of inertial bulk separation and defoaming.

Sand Removal Systems

The sand jetting system is based on the use of high pressure water injected through jet nozzles. The jet nozzles are connected to a set of wash pipes, and are positioned in order to remove the sand that settles at the bottom of the vessel.
In order to prevent clogging, a sand pan is installed down the length of the entire horizontal wash section. When flushing begins, the sand is pushed through the triangular cuts in the sand pan and is removed through the drain nozzle.

Heat Exhangers

Both Ravagnan’s plants (Limena and Bottrighe) manufacture Shell and Tube Heat Exchangers for the Petrochemical, Chemical and Oil & Gas industry, (according to TEMA standards) and for the power industry, such as Feedwater Heathers and Power Plant Condensers.

Ravagan manufactured items over 5 meter diameter, with design pressure up to 1.000 bar and temperature greater than 500°C.

Materials normally used are CS, AISI, 1 ¼, 2 ¼, Cr, Cladded Steels, MONEL® alloys, Copper alloys, Nickel alloys 625, 825, HASTELLOY® alloys, Titanium, etc.

The production ranges from High Pressure Heat Exchangers to Low and Medium Pressure Heat Exchangers (Evaporators, Condensers, Reboilers, Coolers, Heathers and Superheaters), with dimensions up to 5.5 m diameter, 30 m length and 250 MT weight.

Ravagnan can also manufacture vertical Texas Towers assembled in shop with lengths up to 30 meters and weights up to 300 metric tons.

Pressure Vessels and Columns

Ravagnan can supply a wide range of pressure vessels and columns from the Bottrighe (RO) workshop, with dimensions up to 6 meter diameter, 50 meters length and 300 metric tons weight.

Low pressure Vessels, such as scrubbers, separators, filters and tanks can also be manufactured in our Limena (PD) workshop, assuring high flexibility in terms of the offered range

Reactors

Ravagnan has a deep experience and lasting tradition in supplying reactors like Hydrocrackers, Hydrotreaters and Tubular, manufactured in both Ravagnan’s plants (Limena and Bottrighe) for the Petrochemical and Oil & Gas industry.

Materials normally used are CS, AISI, 1 ¼, 2 ¼, Cr, Cladded Steels, MONEL® alloys, Copper alloys, Nickel alloys 625, 825, HASTELLOY® alloys, Titanium, etc.

The dedicated workshop for the heavy wall equipment is the one located in Bottrighe (RO), where dimensions and complexity of the unit’s assembly can be easily met. The limits in transport on truck are up to 5.5 meter diameter, 40 meters length, 300 metric tons weight, up to 18,000 tubes.
